The Mostly-Irish Enclaves of Limerick

Which large Irish areas (with a population of a thousand or more) have the most Irish nationals living there? Well, seven of the top ten places are in Limerick. Here are the large Irish areas with the most Irish people: >>>

The Top Ten

  1. Rathbane in Limerick City (pop. 1691) 98-99% Irish
  2. Glentworth B in Limerick City (pop. 1238) 98-99% Irish
  3. Churchfield in Cork City (pop. 1396) 98-99% Irish
  4. Killeely A in Limerick City (pop. 1577) 99% Irish
  5. John’s A in Limerick City (pop. 1209) 98-99% Irish
  6. Clarina in Limerick County (pop. 1644) 97-98% Irish
  7. Ballinacurra B in Limerick City (pop. 1489) 97-98% Irish
  8. Finglas North A in Dublin City (pop. 3464) 97-98% Irish
  9. Fedamore in Limerick County (pop. 1083) 97-98% Irish
  10. Stradbally in Laois (pop. 1547) 96-98% Irish

Note

The reason why there is a range of percentages for each area is that a small number of people do not state their nationality on the census form, so we do not know whether these people are Irish nationals or not.

Its possible, (nay, probable) that the Limerick natives massacred all the foreigners in those areas. They do it to each other after all.
