Monday Quiz 14 – Angry Mobs & Leggy Distractions

September 24, 2007 at 12:01 am 5 comments

On this week last year (September 24 to September 30, 2006):

  • What leading politician had to hide behind a bus because an angry mob was throwing handfuls of gravel at him?
  • What leading politician got stuck for five minutes between floors in a broken lift, and eventually had to crawl out through a gap at his feet?
  • In a survey, how many Irish drivers admitted to (a) breaking the speed limit; (b) using a mobile phone when driving; (c) driving while over the alcohol limit?
  • It was announced that what Northern Ireland odd couple had arranged to meet for the first time ever?
  • Who said the following and what was he talking about? I had to go over to London to get my head measured and all for the wigs, but it helped to have a beautiful leggy distraction keeping them from paying too much attention.

  • Ceann Comhairle Rory O’Hanlon. It was at the opening of a road in Monaghan, and the crowd was protesting about the downgrading of a local hospital. The opening of the road, by Junior Minister Pat ‘The Cope’ Gallagher, was delayed until the 10,000-strong crowd dispersed.
  • An Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern. He may have found the accident useful, as he was being hounded at the time by reporters about a new story that he had taken money from businessmen.
  • (a) 70% admitted breaking the speed limit; (b) 50% admitted using a mobile phone while driving; (c) 17% admitted to driving while over the alcohol limit. Also, 75% said better enforcement was the best way of improving road safety.
  • The Rev Ian Paisley and the Roman Catholic Primate of All Ireland.
  • Eddie Hobbs. He was talking about disguising himself for a new show in which he would ask people about how they would spend their SSIA money, while being accompanied by the ‘beautiful leggy distraction’ of Lorraine Horgan.

Instead of eating three large meals, you should eat six or
seven smaller meals to reduce your belly fat. You don’t want to eat too
big of portions but you don’t want to starve yourself either.

if it is about lifting the heaviest weights, then they
